Visit Chapala!

This site offers our visitors a chance to see Chapala close-up, from its ancient roots to the latest changes. If you can, be sure to come down and see it for yourself -- but if that isn't an option just now, then visit virtually through this site!

We may sound like cheerleaders some times, it is because we love this area, these people and this lake. The area is not without its faults, and we will not hesitate to point those out -- you can count on our evaluation being more honestly comprehensive than others you may find online.

We too have our faults, but promise to make this site as accurate and up-to-date as we can. We want to provide a personal view of life here, so much of the information is anectdotal or based on our opinions -- we try to label conjecture when we conjure it, so you know what's fact and what's opinion, but sometimes we forget.

This site is large and growing ... be sure to bookmark us so you can continue your visit with us on a future date ... there is too much here for just one visit!

Today's Picture from Chapala:

In 2004 vendors could set up next to the pier; in 2005 that area is underwater.
